RIP, GeoCities

Post by Chris Vogel »

GeoCities is closing down on 26 October, which is roughly two hours and twenty minutes from now at their headquarters. Sites are still viewable, although that will not be the case for long. (Just to ease everyone’s concerns, TFEFEFP has already migrated.)

I had a GeoCities page a long time ago. I don’t remember what it was about or what it looked like, and perhaps that’s best.

Woah, that is crazy. I remember Geocities, and had forgotten about it. I also had a web page on there long time ago. Damn, brings back memories now.

Haha yeah tripod, I used that one too back in the day.

Remember the days where they only put 1 ad up? Those are long gone lol. Think now it's all sorts of popups and crap. Guess they have to make up their costs somehow! Surprised free hosting even still exists tbh.
